Representatives of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) have arrived in Mykolaiv on a working visit.

This was reported on the website of the Mykolaiv City Council.

At the event, with the participation of child protection specialist Jamila Akhter, child protection coordinator Tetiana Kutas, and child protection project coordinator Marharyta Kropyvnytska, they discussed further actions to support large families.

"In cooperation with UNICEF, we opened a youth space called Khvylya in Mykolaiv, which has become very popular among young people. We are currently implementing an initiative aimed at supporting families raising children with disabilities or developmental delays. This is the so-called early intervention - this important service is provided on the basis of the city's Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation for Children and Persons with Disabilities," reads the description of this news on the portal of the Mykolaiv City Council.

In the future, it is planned to implement the "Better Care" project. This includes the introduction of additional measures to support children with disabilities and their families.

Currently, the premises where the Resilience Center and some social assistance services will operate are being cleaned up and repaired in Mykolaiv. The meeting discussed further steps related to this initiative.

"Cooperation with UNICEF allows us not only to respond to immediate needs but also to build an effective system of support for children and families. This is one of the key areas of our work. Together, we will continue to protect those who need it most," said Vitaly Lukov, First Deputy Mayor of the city.
