UAH 800 million planned for special equipment and landscaping in Mykolaiv

Mykolaiv has updated its housing and communal services development program, allocating more than UAH 66 billion for infrastructure modernization. The funds will be used to repair sidewalks, renovate children's and sports grounds, housing and purchase equipment.
The decision was made at a meeting of the Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council.
The city authorities have amended the Program for Reform and Development of Housing and Communal Services for 2025-2029. The updated document envisages a significant increase in funding and details of measures aimed at improving the city's infrastructure and amenities. The total funding for the program now amounts to over UAH 66 billion.
The key areas include repair of sidewalks, restoration of children's and sports grounds, modernization of housing facilities and purchase of equipment for landscaping.
For example, expenditures for sidewalk repairs are expected to increase every year: from UAH 185 million in 2025 to almost UAH 378 million in 2029. This will make it possible to repair more than 340 thousand square meters of street and road infrastructure in five years.
According to the draft decision, attention was also paid to children's and sports grounds. The program provides for the annual overhaul of about 40 facilities. Expenditures will increase from UAH 32 million in 2025 to more than UAH 66 million in 2029, while 100% of the sites in need of repair will be renovated. In the housing sector, it is planned to restore up to 150 communal facilities with a gradual increase in funding - from UAH 2 million in 2025 to UAH 20 million in 2027.
The city council has also allocated funds for the purchase of special machinery, materials and equipment for landscaping: UAH 400.8 million in 2025, and by 2029 this amount will increase to over UAH 831 million. All planned units of machinery and equipment must be purchased in full. In addition, the document provides funds for territory planning and land leveling.
The city council emphasized that the amendments are aimed at making the housing and utilities system more reliable, providing more comfortable living conditions for residents and modernizing key elements of the city's infrastructure.
During the last session, Tetiana Dmytrova, deputy head of the municipal property department of Mykolaiv City Council, reported that the sale of 14 municipal property objects put up for auction brought almost UAH 20 million to the budget. This amount is twice their starting price. Auctions are currently underway for another 114 objects, the sale of which was approved by the deputies at their previous meetings.
