In Odesa, forced evacuation of cars may begin as early as May, and drivers will have to pay 2000 hryvnias in addition to a fine.

This was discussed at a meeting of the Standing Committee on Transport and Roads on April 3.

As it has become known, Odesa is preparing to launch a system for evacuating cars that significantly interfere with traffic. The necessary documents are being finalized and the evacuation procedure is being determined.

"We are arranging special vehicles and working on documents to implement the evacuation. We are tentatively planning to complete this process by May," the meeting was informed.

According to preliminary information, the cost of evacuation will be 2000 hryvnias. If a car is parked on tram tracks or creates serious obstacles to traffic, it can be forcibly evacuated, and the owner will have to pay not only a fine but also the cost of transportation.

The calculation of the cost has already been prepared, and it remains to be officially approved. The final decision is to be made by the executive committee.

Earlier, Intent wrote that Odesa is investigating the purchase of "golden" parking bollards. An official of the municipal institution "SMEP" Yevhenia Bereza is involved in it, having purchased these posts at inflated prices. On behalf of the institution, she announced an open tender for the purchase of 300 anti-parking bollards worth 1 million hryvnias. However, only one entrepreneur took part in the tender - individual entrepreneur Vitaliy Nikolayev, who offered to supply the bollards for UAH 996,000, i.e. UAH 3,320 per unit excluding VAT.

Law enforcement officers found out that the real market price of such bollards at the time of the contract was only UAH 1,231 per unit. Thus, the difference in price resulted in an overpayment of over UAH 626 thousand. The head of the procurement department of CMEP was suspected of official negligence, which caused grave consequences.
