A meeting of the standing committee on housing and communal services of the Odesa City Council discussed the critical shortage of construction materials to deal with the consequences of Russian attacks.

A representative of the utility companies said that the stocks purchased for the whole year have already been exhausted, and now more than 42 million hryvnias are needed.

The materials used to close broken windows and doors in apartment buildings and private homes were used up due to the intense shelling of the city. In particular, the largest request for funds was made by the Porto-Frankivsk housing cooperative, which requested UAH 10 million. Other requests: "Vuzivskyi - UAH 6.07 million, Chornomorsky - UAH 6.4 million, Cheremushky - UAH 6.1 million, Fontanskyi - UAH 5.6 million and another request from it - UAH 110 thousand, Pivdennyi - UAH 5 million, Peresypskyi - UAH 2 million, Khmelnytskyi - UAH 1 million.

The commission also considered a proposal to allocate UAH 20 million for the dismantling and partial dismantling of residential buildings on Kutuzakiya Street that were damaged by a kamikaze drone strike in March 2024. Three people were killed in the attack. The work will be financed in 2025, and the city's housing department has been designated as the main spending unit.

On the evening of March 4, the Russian occupiers once again terrorized Odesa and the region at night and launched a large number of drones and missiles at the region. The strikes damaged the city's critical infrastructure: parts of Odesa were left without electricity, water, and heat.

In November 2024, Odesa was under massive attack by enemy UAVs. As a result of the shelling, fires broke out in different places. One woman was killed and 10 other people were injured.

Earlier, Russian troops also massively attacked Odesa and its suburbs with kamikaze drones. There were numerous explosions, a school, a gas pipeline and many houses were destroyed.
