Odesa Executive Committee plans compensation for war victims and support for hospitals

On September 18, the executive committee of Odesa City Council will hold an open meeting to consider 126 issues. The agenda includes finance, compensation for war victims, landscaping and security.

On September 18, the Odesa Executive Committee plans to consider 126 issues. The agenda covers a wide range of topics, from financial decisions and investment allocation to social protection, communal issues and urban improvement.
Among the key issues is the creation of a special commission to determine how to allocate public investments. This will allow for more transparent planning of municipal budget expenditures and their allocation to the most necessary infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and transportation.
Another set of issues concerns support for citizens whose homes were damaged or destroyed during the war. The Executive Committee will consider approving compensation payments that have already been approved by district administrations. This includes both one-time assistance and funding for reconstruction work.
The deputies also plan to amend the decision on the local material reserve. This will allow for faster allocation of funds in case of emergencies, from shelling relief to restoration of damaged infrastructure.
Odesa city authorities have also decided that additional compensation will be provided to districts with the highest burden on infrastructure: Prymorsky, Suvorovsky and Malinovsky. Particular attention is paid to medical facilities - additional support is planned to be provided to city hospitals No. 1 and No. 5 and the children's regional hospital. The funding will be used to purchase modern equipment and materials to improve the quality of medical services and reduce waiting lists for patients.
Other issues include the transfer and inventory of municipal property, approval and cancellation of permits for outdoor advertising, and approval of the executive committee's work plan for the last quarter of 2025.
At the end of August, Odesa introduced updated tariffs for businesses on the coast, from mobile kiosks to rented beaches. The funds raised will be used for cleaning, repairing, and arranging the areas. The tariffs apply to cafes, restaurants, summer playgrounds, mobile retail outlets and stationary facilities of various sizes, as well as beach tenants who provide paid services.
