The Mykolaiv Executive Committee has updated the decision on the city's material reserve for prompt response to emergencies, in particular due to Russia's military aggression.
The decision was made at a meeting of the Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council.
The Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council approved amendments to the 2016 decision on the creation and use of the city's material reserve. The updates concern measures to ensure immediate elimination of the consequences of emergencies, in particular those caused by Russian military aggression.
The new list of material reserves includes a wide range of items: from field kitchens and heat guns to fuels and lubricants and construction materials. Special attention is also paid to personal protective equipment, generators, pumping stations and even specialized vehicles such as fire trucks.
Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych emphasized the importance of effective resource management for a quick response to an emergency. Deputy Mayor Serhiy Korenev was assigned to oversee the implementation of the decision.
The decision also provides for the approval of a new version of the reserve nomenclature, which takes into account the needs of the community in conditions of increased risk of emergencies.
In December, the local authorities of Mykolaiv transferred materials from the reserve to eliminate the consequences of Russian aggression. Breeze received slate, lumber, tarpaulin and nails to repair the damaged facilities.
Recently, the Department of Housing and Utilities presented the results of the restoration of damaged residential buildings and infrastructure in the city. More than UAH 126 million was spent on these works.
In total, 67 building inspections were conducted in Mykolaiv region in 2024, with current repairs carried out in ten buildings, major repairs in five, and one destroyed building dismantled. Projects were implemented to restore residential buildings, infrastructure, roads and bridges at the expense of state and local budgets, as well as with the support of international partners.
