In Mykolaiv, consumers of Mykolaivoblteploenergo have been refunded more than 53 million. This happened after the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection found that the company had been overcharging for heat.

This was reported by the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Mykolaiv region.

After the end of the heating season, the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection began receiving complaints from residents about inflated heating bills. During the inspections, it turned out that Mykolaivoblteploenergo used an incorrect tariff to charge for heat used for common house needs. Instead of the tariff of UAH 1,129.33 per Gcal, the company applied the tariff of UAH 1,999.08 per Gcal, which resulted in unreasonably high cost of services for residents. For these violations, Mykolaivoblteploenergo received 106 decisions on fines in the amount of more than UAH 120 thousand and 85 orders to eliminate violations. All residents of Mykolaiv affected by the situation have already been recalculated.

Two boiler houses will be closed in Mykolaiv, and heat will be supplied by the CHP plant. It is planned to modernize the heat supply system by uniting the first service area by reconstructing heating networks and closing two inefficient boiler houses on two streets of the city. The section of the heating network connecting the boiler houses to Mykolaivska CHP will be reconstructed. The company will also reconnect consumers to the central heating network by installing new heating units, close two old boiler houses and convert the boiler house premises into a central heating point.
