At an extraordinary session, the Mykolaiv Regional Council decided to support President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The vote was unanimous - 40 deputies voted in favor.

This became known during an extraordinary session of the Mykolaiv Regional Council.

The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, Vitaliy Kim, thanked the deputies, emphasizing the importance of unity in an uncertain geopolitical situation. According to him, international partners are closely monitoring the internal cohesion of Ukrainians, and such support from the president is an important signal to the world.

Anton Tabunschyk, head of the regional council, also noted that Ukraine should be united not only within the country, but also in its interaction with its allies. He emphasized that Ukraine should determine its own future, and no external forces should influence this decision.

The adopted appeal will be sent to the President, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's international partners and the US National Governors Association.

It should be noted that the extraordinary session of the Mykolaiv Regional Council was held online, but it was impossible to determine how many deputies participated in it, as the attendees were not shown to anyone. During the voting, only the head of the Mykolaiv regional organization and the chairman of the regional council, Anton Tabunschyk, were shown on the screen, reading out the number of people present and the number of people who supported the appeal.

In his turn, Anatoliy Boyko, head of the Odesa regional organization of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, said in a comment to Intent that in this case the form of voting does not matter, because the decision itself has no legal consequences:

"This decision of the Mykolaiv regional council is purely political and has no legal significance, so in this case the form of the regional council session, where the presence of deputies was not shown, is also irrelevant," the expert explained. - "At the same time, I would like to note that local councils should abandon the practice of holding online meetings, except for Kherson, where another form of meetings is impossible.

Meanwhile , on February 25, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decided to terminate the parliamentary powers of Iryna Kormyshkina, a representative of the Servant of the People faction from Mykolaiv, early.
