Mykolaiv has decided to launch a new bus route No. 79, which will provide connections to remote areas of the city. The transportation will be provided by the Mykolaivpastrans utility company.
This is evidenced by the decision of the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council.
Mykolaiv decided to organize passenger transportation on the city's public bus route No. 79. The route will connect Odeske Shosse 94 with Velam and will operate in the normal traffic mode.
In order to ensure uninterrupted and high-quality passenger service, Mykolaivpastrans has been appointed as a temporary carrier on the route, which will provide transportation for up to 3 months until the next tender for transportation is held.
Buses on route 79 will run daily from 06:00 to 22:00. The route will have numerous stops in different parts of the city, including Odeske Shosse, Vadym Blagovisnyi, Velyka Morskaya, Buznyk, Tsentralnyi and Bohoyavlenskyi avenues, as well as Troitska, Kosmonavtiv and other streets.
The general route will provide convenient communication for residents of remote areas of the city, improving transport accessibility under martial law and taking into account the social importance of solving the issue of passenger transportation.
Last year, Mykolaivpastrans initiated a series of procurements aimed at improving the city's public transportation. The list included insurance services, bus repairs, procurement of fuel, electricity, auto parts, and modernization of security systems.
Mykolaiv recently introduced new tariffs for public transportation. At the same time, preferential conditions for students and schoolchildren have been introduced, and transportation will remain free for students during martial law.
At the end of January, the city increased the company's authorized capital and expanded the composition of the supervisory board. Currently, the company's capital exceeds UAH 100 million, and additional funds can be used to purchase fixed assets, develop transportation, and finance investment projects.
In 2025, Mykolaivpastrans plans to significantly improve urban transportation. By the end of the year, the company's fleet will be replenished with 26 new buses, of which 10 will start running by July and the rest by the end of the year.
