Mykolaiv hospital, gymnasiums and sports complex to be renovated: executive committee approves development program

Mykolaiv plans to reconstruct schools, hospitals, and sports facilities in 2024-2026. The executive committee has submitted for consideration draft amendments to the city development program to finance these works.
This is evidenced by the draft decision of the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council.
The Executive Committee of Mykolaiv has decided to submit draft amendments to the Program of Economic and Social Development of the city for 2024-2026 for consideration by the deputies. The document provides for funding for a number of investment projects aimed at modernizing social and engineering infrastructure, data protection, and developing the city's service system.
According to the draft decision, the key initiatives include the introduction of an integrated information security system (ISIS) for the municipal geographic information system. The goal is to protect data from unauthorized access, leakage, or destruction in accordance with state security standards.
It is also planned to overhaul the building of the City Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation for Children and Persons with Disabilities, with design and survey work and expertise. Among the education and energy facilities is the reconstruction of the boiler house and heating networks of Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 16. The project involves design and survey work and expertise, its implementation is scheduled for 2025, and the facility currently needs to be designed.
The Department of Housing and Communal Services of the City Council will be responsible for the construction of outbuildings on Ozerna Street, with work scheduled for 2026. This facility also requires design.
In the field of education and sports, it is planned to reconstruct Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 15 with the installation of a radiation shelter, as well as reconstruct the administrative premises of the athletics arena of the Mykolaiv Specialized Children's and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Athletics Reserve. Design and survey work, adjustments and expertise are envisaged for both facilities, and implementation is scheduled for 2025-2026.
City Hospital No. 4 will receive reconstruction of part of the premises with a swimming pool for a rehabilitation center, including for victims of military operations. The work is scheduled to be completed in 2026, and the facility currently requires further design and expertise.
At the same time, Mykolaiv lacks the funds to roof the unfinished building of Lyceum No. 60 in Varvarovka by winter. The city authorities are awaiting a decision from the Ministry of Finance and are negotiating with the regional state administration on possible co-financing.
