Mykolaiv Executive Committee Approves Ukrainian Language Development Project

On September 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., a meeting of the executive committee of the city council was held in Mykolaiv. The agenda included issues related to education, social protection, infrastructure and communal property.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The members of the executive committee made a number of decisions, including on school meals, setting new tariffs and providing free meals for all students from the frontline regions. They also approved a project aimed at the development and functioning of the Ukrainian language in the city, which will include advertising campaigns and other activities.

In addition, the issue of resuming the sports training process in children's and youth sports schools under martial law was considered. And to improve the city's infrastructure, a list of streets for mechanized cleaning was determined, which was a necessary step to put this into operation.

The meeting also approved the transfer of water supply and sewerage networks and other property to the ownership of the Mykolaiv territorial community. In the area of social protection, financial assistance was approved for 411 people whose candidacies had been screened in advance. The issue of reburial of the remains of the dead was also discussed.

On August 13, the city executive committee discussed the issue of amending the decision on eliminating the dangerous consequences of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, reforming the housing and communal services, social and humanitarian assistance. 89 issues were considered, including the issue of granting permission for the burial of remains, approval of the act of acceptance and transfer of property from the joint ownership of territorial communities of villages and settlements of Mykolaiv district to the communal ownership of Mykolaiv city community. The issue of dismantling a number of temporary structures was also considered.

In particular, it provides for the improvement of municipal infrastructure and utilities. They also discussed the settlement of issues related to the removal of green spaces, mechanized street cleaning, and the approval of the procedure for repairing and modernizing elevators and housing stock on a co-financing basis. In addition, the agenda includes changes to the network of routes and stops of public electric transport.
