Mykolaiv received a number of high-tech devices and equipment for infrastructure development. The humanitarian aid came from the US government, and the Mykolaiv authorities adopted changes to the procedure for receiving international technical assistance.
The decision was made at a meeting of the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council.
The assistance was sought within the framework of the project "Improving the Performance and Accountability of Local Governments" with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
According to the new additions to the decision of the executive committee of the city council of October 9, 2024, the city received several significant items of international assistance.
Among the equipment:
- 2 dust control devices for UAH 272,128.56 (Netherlands);
- Low-bed semitrailer for USD 115,000 (Poland);
- 6x4 chassis truck for USD 158,000 (Germany);
- 2 mobile jaw crushers (Italy) with 5 additional sets of replacement hammers and 6 sets of consumables for 1 year of operation for UAH 8,441,479.20 (Italy);
- 2 mobile sorting plants with 6 sets of consumables for 1 year of operation for UAH 3,095,209.04 (Italy).
The equipment was transferred to the balance sheet of the municipal enterprise "Operational Linear Road Management".
All of these resources were donated to Mykolaiv by the U.S. Government through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and will be used to improve the quality and efficiency of municipal services.
In addition, according to the decision, the city authorities will develop measures to assign these devices to the respective balance holders, including enterprises that use the road.
In December last year, Mykolaiv received a new batch of equipment to equip the future plant for recycling construction waste that was generated as a result of the destruction caused by shelling by Russian troops.
The city also received new equipment to restore water supply and eliminate the consequences of the war. As a result of constant shelling since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, almost all of the city's critical infrastructure has been damaged. The water supply system was particularly affected, destroyed during the offensive in March 2022, leaving more than 200,000 residents of Mykolaiv without centralized water supply.
In addition, Mykolaiv has received new equipment for solid waste collection, including modern garbage trucks, portal loaders and dump trucks. Since the beginning of the war, much of the specialized equipment has been destroyed as a result of Russian aggression, but recently equipment from international partners and charitable organizations has been arriving in Mykolaiv more frequently, helping to restore important services and facilitating the city's reconstruction.
