The Kherson Regional Military Administration has set up a working group to update the Regional Development Strategy for 2021-2027.

The decision was signed by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

The goal of the initiative is to bring the regional strategic plan in line with the State Strategy for Regional Development for 2021-2027 and to take into account current socio-economic challenges, as well as the priorities for the restoration and development of the Kherson region.

According to Prokudin's order, the working group is tasked with preparing and agreeing on proposals for key trends, a strategic vision of development, priorities and goals for the region by June 1, 2026, as well as defining a system of quantitative and qualitative indicators to assess progress. The Department of Economic Development of the Kherson Regional State Administration will coordinate the work and submit draft amendments to the Regional Development Strategy by July 1, 2026.

The group was chaired by Dmytro Butriy, First Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration. The group includes heads of departments, scientists, representatives of public organizations, experts in economics, social sphere, and regional development.

The working group is expected to provide a comprehensive approach to planning the development of Kherson region, taking into account the current needs of communities and the prospects for recovery after the war.

The development of the Community Development Strategy and the action plan for its implementation in Kherson began in October of this year. In particular, a questionnaire was published on the Kherson AUC website to find out from residents about the key problems and needs of the community. The answers should help the working group identify priority goals, areas of recovery, and a development strategy until 2027.

Kherson residents were asked to assess the state of physical, environmental, economic and food security, the level of openness of the authorities, the availability of jobs and their readiness to participate in post-war recovery.
