Garbage collection tariffs to rise in Pervomaisk

Starting from October 1, 2025, residents of Pervomaisk will pay for garbage collection at new, higher rates.
The decision was made by the executive committee of the city council.
Residents of Pervomaisk's high-rise buildings will pay UAH 53.48 per month for the services provided by Kommunservice LLC instead of the previous UAH 39.52. For private sector residents, the tariff will increase from UAH 35.67 to 48.28 per month. In total, the cost of removing one cubic meter of household waste will be 297.12 hryvnia.
In Mykolaiv, a spontaneous landfill has formed in Ternivka due to the illegal removal of construction and other waste. Local residents are asking the authorities to remove it. The problem was reported during a city council session on September 4.
Deputy Andriy Yantar said that residents had planted an alley of walnuts in the neighborhood, and a landfill was growing nearby, on an area of about a hectare. According to him, waste is regularly brought there by dump trucks. On Dachna Street, the road passes by the skate park. It was built by residents, with the private sector and a dacha cooperative on the right and garages on the left. Dump trucks take construction waste there, forming large piles.
Mykolaiv plans to build a modern complex for sorting household waste. The project will be implemented by the winner of an open tender held by the city authorities.
According to the results of an open tender announced by the city authorities, the winner was West Tu Energy Niko LLC. According to the company's director, the company plans to implement this project entirely at its own expense, investing between UAH 150 and 200 million. Construction is scheduled to take 13 months.
Once completed, the complex will sort waste, sending recyclables for recycling and non-recyclable waste to a landfill. It is expected that the city will receive 10% of the profits from the sale of recyclable materials. In addition, the project can open access to international grants, green financing, and improve the city's investment attractiveness.
