Three medical institutions in the Kherson region will be equipped with medical equipment for primary health care.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.

The report says that three medical institutions in the Kherson region, which have been significantly affected by Russian shelling, will receive medical equipment and furniture for primary health care as part of a partnership with the Support Kherson Region charitable foundation, which received a grant from USAID HRS. This assistance will improve the provision of primary health care in the region, reduce waiting times for appointments and simplify access to health care for more than 250,000 people.

The press service added that the purchase of equipment for the needs of medical institutions is part of the Open Grant Program of the USAID Health Care Reform Support Project. The project is aimed at supporting the reform and restoration of Ukraine's health care system with financial assistance from the US government. Currently, activities are focused on restoring the health care system to ensure continuity of health care services, reduce morbidity, and strengthen the system's resilience to withstand the challenges of war.

Earlier it was reported that the humanitarian situation in Kherson region and healthcare needs were discussed during a meeting with Giorgio Trombatore, Regional Director of the NGO PROJECT HOPE. They also talked about providing the region with armored vehicles for visits and services to the population.

It was also discussed that one of the medical institutions in Kherson region received an uninterruptible power supply. This generating station will be used to ensure the hospital's sustainable operation in the face of possible power outages. Thanks to this system, medical equipment that requires electricity will operate smoothly and patients will receive medical care, even in difficult circumstances.
