Mykolaiv doctors received new equipment from the World Health Organization. These modern devices are designed to measure the content of radionuclides.
This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
These devices can be used to measure the content of radionuclides in the human body, in agricultural and food products, in drinking water, medicinal raw materials, wood, building materials and other environmental objects.
These are the SICH-ACP-3 human radiation spectrometer, the SEG-001 scintillation gamma radiation spectrometer AKPS-S 63 and the BETA radiation spectrometer SEB-01-150 with software.
Currently, specialists of Atomkomplekssprylad LLC are installing the equipment and training medical personnel to use it.
This equipment will enhance the center's ability to monitor radiation safety and prevent related diseases.
The Ministry of Health also donated modern laboratory equipment for toxicology and DNA testing. This will speed up the identification procedure and allow for innovative examinations, including those using molecular genetic methods.
