Mykolaiv City Council has allocated over UAH 19 million for capital works in medical facilities. The city also plans to build a perinatal, rehabilitation, and pediatric diagnostic center.
This is evidenced by the draft city budget for 2025.
The Capital Construction Department of the Mykolaiv City Council was allocated UAH 19 million 765 thousand from the development budget for 2024-2026. These funds are provided by a special fund of the city budget to implement the key tasks of the city's economic and social development program.
UAH 5 million 665 thousand were allocated for major repairs of intra-quarter passages, fire alarms and protective structures of hospitals.
UAH 5.5 million was allocated to improve fire safety in maternity hospital No. 3. Also, UAH 2.5 million was allocated to equip the Medical and Sanitary Aid Center No. 2 with a fire alarm system.
UAH 6 million 100 thousand was allocated under the budget program "Construction of Medical Facilities and Institutions".
Thus, it is planned to build a children's diagnostic center with a bomb shelter, create a rehabilitation center for war victims at Hospital No. 4, and reconstruct Maternity Hospital No. 3 to create a level II perinatal center.
In total, more than UAH 200 million has been allocated from the city budget for healthcare in 2025. More funds were allocated to hospitals, maternity homes and benefit programs. Special attention was paid to supporting municipal healthcare facilities.
Mykolaiv region also received more than UAH 100 million from the government for healthcare projects. Six infrastructure projects are currently being implemented in the region. The key issue in the healthcare sector is the development of a network of rehabilitation units. As of August 2024, only six medical institutions in the region are contracted by the NHSU in this area.
Mykolaiv region is one of the regions with the most damaged medical facilities. Out of 21 healthcare facilities in the city, 16 came under fire, some more than once.
