In cooperation with the Government of Denmark and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), three vocational training workshops were modernized in Mykolaiv Oblast. Investments in the project amounted to USD 430 thousand.
This was reported by the Association of Frontline Cities and Communities.
The new educational spaces located in Mykolaiv, Voznesensk, and Pivdenoukrainsk will become key sites for training 1500 students and retraining adults, which will help to quickly meet the needs of the regional labor market.
Each of the centers has its own specialization focused on strategic sectors of the economy. In particular, Voznesensk's workshops focus on electrical engineering, construction and trade, while Pivdenoukrainsk's will train personnel for industry, transport, communications and food service. At the same time, Mykolaiv's workshops cover the areas of digital technology, industry, and modern construction.
Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, emphasized that the region' s strategy is based on investments in human capital, as the region's rapid recovery is possible only through the development of production and the availability of skilled craftsmen. The opening of such facilities is a significant contribution to the economic sustainability of southern Ukraine, as it not only increases the competitiveness of young people but also enables adult residents to acquire a demanded profession and join the reconstruction process.
Earlier, Mykolaiv received four subventions from the state and regional budgets for more than UAH 823 million. The bulk of the funds will be used to pay teachers' salaries and organize school meals.
The city received the largest amount of funding under the educational subvention - UAH 707 million 634 thousand. As before, these funds will be used to pay salaries to teachers of general secondary education institutions.
