Mykolaiv specialists completed a week-long physical rehabilitation training in Lutsk. The training participants not only gained new knowledge but also established professional contacts for further cooperation. The skills gained will help improve the quality of rehabilitation for military personnel in Mykolaiv region.
This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.
The training was held at the Advance Center Medical Center and brought together 14 specialists from the Mykolaiv City Center for Support of War Veterans, the Regional Clinical Hospital for Veterans, the Medicosano Rehabilitation Clinic, as well as specialists from Bashtanka, Yuzhnoukrainska, and Voznesenskaya communities.
The educational course was organized by Viktor Moiseev, director of the Mykolaiv City Center for Support of War Veterans, together with the Advance Center rehabilitation center.
We strive to create an effective rehabilitation system for our veterans, as they deserve maximum attention and support. The war has put their health through serious tests, and our task is to help them return to a full life," said Viktor Moiseev.
The participants deepened their knowledge of creating multidisciplinary teams, rehabilitation after war trauma, working with patients with traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, correcting sleep disorders, social adaptation and using assistive technologies. An important part of the course was practical training, which helped to consolidate the knowledge gained.
The training was supported by the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine and funded by the Danish government.
In 2025, the Mykolaiv City Council has allocated more than UAH 19 million for major repairs in medical facilities. In addition, there are plans to build modern perinatal, rehabilitation and pediatric diagnostic centers.
In November last year, a new rehabilitation department that meets barrier-free standards was launched at Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital. It has 20 beds and provides care for patients with neurological, traumatological, cardiorespiratory and musculoskeletal disorders in the acute and post-acute periods.
In Mykolaiv, the company also plans to purchase premises to set up a prosthetic and orthotic workshop at City Hospital No. 4. It will provide military personnel and other patients with high-quality prosthetics, helping to restore limb function and improve their lives.
