Most schools and kindergartens in Odesa will resume work after bad weather on October 2

On Thursday, October 2, most of the city's schools and kindergartens will resume their normal operation.
According to the Odesa City Hall, the city's educational institutions are actively eliminating the consequences of the bad weather and preparing for the return of children.
Two pre-schools and 11 schools out of 120 are temporarily using distance learning:
- - 3 - in the Kyiv district
- - 2 - in Primorsky district
- - 6 - in Khadzhibey district.
The city council notes that educators will promptly inform parents about changes and ensure the organization of the educational process.
On September 30, 9 people died in Odesa as a result of the bad weather, including one child. The weather caused serious damage: flooding of roads, power outages, and property damage. The prolonged rain and wind that prevailed for almost a day in Odesa resulted in 70 trees and large branches falling down. The city's emergency response committee recommends that vehicle owners limit their movements in Odesa to their own vehicles until the situation in the city stabilizes.
"Public utilities continue to eliminate the consequences of the bad weather," the city council adds.
First of all, utilities are clearing roads, highways, and pedestrian walkways of fallen trees, as well as removing trees that obstruct access to socially important facilities. So far, the work has been completed at 37 addresses, and work is ongoing at 33 more locations.
Emergency situations are being eliminated by specialists of the municipal enterprises Gorzelentrest, City Roads and Housing and Utility Services at their respective addresses. Utility workers are cutting down and removing fallen trees, as well as cleaning the streets of debris.
Meanwhile, the mayor's office posted a video saying that almost two months' worth of rain fell in Odesa in 7 hours.
