The Odesa region ranked among the top five regions in terms of the number of entrepreneurs engaged in the production of non-alcoholic beverages.

This was reported by a team of analystsat YC.Market.

According to the analysts, there are 54 such entrepreneurs in the Odesa region. The Lviv region led the way among the regions, with 78 active businesses. The top five also included the Dnipropetrovsk (61), Zakarpattia (57), and Kyiv regions (50). Separately, analysts noted that the city of Kyiv has 154 businesses—the highest number among all administrative units.

Experts attribute these regions’ leading positions to their large populations, substantial consumer markets, and well-developed trade, logistics, and HoReCa sectors. These regions also have a higher concentration of distributors, manufacturing enterprises, and companies engaged in the wholesale and retail trade of beverages. Zakarpattia Oblast’s high ranking may also be attributed to tourism, a significant number of food service establishments, and the long-standing presence of mineral and drinking water producers.

The smallest number of market participants was recorded in Volyn (10), Kirovohrad (11), Zhytomyr (12), Kherson (12), Rivne (17), and Sumy (17) regions. This may be due to the smaller size of the local market, a lower concentration of production capacity, and the fact that beverage supplies to these regions are often provided by companies registered in larger economic centers. A separate factor for the Kherson region is the impact of the full-scale war: the occupation of part of its territory, the destruction of enterprises, population decline, and a decrease in business activity.

Between 2022 and 2025, new businesses were established annually in the non-alcoholic beverages and mineral water production sector: 47 in 2022, 49 in 2023, and 37 in 2024. As shown by YC.Market’s analysis, in 2025 the number of new registrations returned to the 2022 level, totaling 47 businesses.
