Reconstruction of a school in the center of Mykolaiv will cost almost 265 million

Mykolaiv has announced a tender to continue rebuilding Lyceum No. 2, which was damaged during Russian shelling. The expected cost of the work is UAH 264.9 million.
This is reported by MikVisti with reference to the Department of Urban Development and Architecture of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.
These funds will be used to carry out a number of works, including the restoration of facades, interior decoration, installation of electrical equipment, and landscaping. The project also includes the installation of an elevator for people with disabilities and the construction of a shelter.
According to the regional authorities, as of early March 2026, UAH 99.3 million from the state budget has already been spent on the restoration of the building. So far, the contractor has completed about 40% of the planned work, and the regional education authority has already announced a tender to find a contractor to complete the restoration of the lyceum within two years.
In particular, the builders have already restored the roof, rebuilt some of the destroyed structures, reinforced window openings, installed new windows, masonry the interior walls and laid communications. Work is also underway to restore the facades and equip the shelter.
Funding for the project is planned to be received in 2026-2027 at the expense of the Armed Aggression Response Fund.
Lyceum #2 is a historic building in the center of Mykolaiv. The issue of its restoration was raised even before the full-scale invasion: in 2021, the premises were recognized as emergency, and city residents even created a petition demanding to preserve the building.
Earlier, Intent wrote that in the Mykolaiv region, they planned to repair the windows in the lyceum. More than UAH 12 million is planned to be spent from the budget.
In addition, it is planned to overhaul the shelter in the Novodesskoye dormitory building. The estimated duration of the repair is seven months. The shelter, with an area of 1520 square meters, is designed for 450 people. The total estimated budget of the project is UAH 29 million 800 thousand.
Meanwhile, the construction of a shelter for a lyceum in Mykolaiv region, worth almost UAH 90 million, was ordered at inflated prices and with some shortcomings. On October 3, 2024, the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of the Koblivka Village Council signed an agreement with Nimfan LLC for the construction of a radiation shelter for the Rybakivka Lyceum. The company was awarded the contract without competition. The cost of materials in the estimate significantly exceeds market prices.
