Pensions in the Odesa region are nearly 1,500 lower than the Ukrainian average

The average old-age pension in the Odesa region reached 5,778 hryvnias at the start of 2026. This is 20.55% less than the national average.

According to the Main Department of Statistics in the Odesa region, payments in the region have increased by 57.85% over the past five years—from 3,660.4 hryvnias in 2022. However, this increase was effectively offset by cumulative inflation over this period, which exceeded 60%.

Overall, the average pension in Ukraine is 7,273 hryvnias. At the same time, one in four pensioners receives about 3,500 hryvnias.

Meanwhile, the number of pensioners in the Odesa region continues to decline. While 407,600 elderly people were registered in the Odesa region in 2022, by the beginning of 2026 their number had decreased by 4.83%—to 387,900 people. The decline in the number of pensioners in the Odesa region is occurring at a slightly slower pace than in the country as a whole, where the figure fell by nearly 6.8%.  

In 2025, residents of the Odesa region received an average pension of 5,628 hryvnias. At the same time, the average pension in Ukraine was 5,816 hryvnias. 

In 2024, pensioners in the Odesa region received 5,596.63 hryvnias. According tothe Pension Fund, as of October 1, 2024, the average pension in Ukraine was 5,852 hryvnias.
