Odesa Region Ranked Fifth in Ukraine by the Number of New FOPs

The number of new individual entrepreneurs who registered in the first quarter of 2026 in Ukraine reached 63,555, 4,542 of whom were registered in Odesa region.

According to YC.Market analysts, Odesa region ranked fifth in Ukraine with this indicator.

In terms of the number of registrations in the first quarter of 2026, the top ten regions, which accumulated 66.4% of all registrations of sole proprietorships in the country, are as follows

  • Kyiv - 8 thousand 227,
  • Dnipropetrovska oblast - 6 thousand 491,
  • Lviv region - 5 thousand 74,
  • Kyiv region - 4 thousand 705,
  • Odesa region - 4 thousand 542,
  • Kharkiv region - 4 thousand 136,
  • Vinnytsia region - 2,542,
  • Poltava region - 2,251,
  • Ivano-Frankivsk region - 2,136,
  • Khmelnytsky region - 2,94.

Odesa region ranked fourth in terms of the number of closures - 3,730 sole proprietorships closed in the region in the first quarter.

The capital is also among the leaders in terms of the number of sole proprietorships terminated - 6,294. It is followed by Dnipropetrovska oblast - 4 thousand 945, Kharkivska oblast - 3 thousand 832. Kyiv region is in fifth place - 3,479, Lviv region is in sixth place - 3,392, Vinnytsia region is in seventh place - 2,288 closed sole proprietorships, Khmelnytsky region is in eighth place - 1,836, Poltava region is in ninth place - 1,736, Zaporizhzhia region is in the top ten - 1,678.

In the gender-identified part of the quarterly array, 63 thousand 463 registrations and 51 thousand 632 terminations were recorded. Among the new sole proprietors, women accounted for 38 thousand 6 people, or almost 60%, and men for 25 thousand 457 people, or 40%. Among terminations, women accounted for 26,971, or 52%, and men for 24,661, or 48%.

As a result, women accounted for the bulk of the net increase in the number of individual entrepreneurs. Their figure amounted to 11,355 new sole proprietors, while men's increase amounted to 796 entrepreneurs. This means that women accounted for 93.3% of the net increase in the number of new sole proprietorship registrations in the first quarter of 2026.
