In the Odesa region, the tourism tax brought in 8.6 million to local communities

From January through July 2026, the local budgets of the Odesa region received 8.6 million hryvnias in tourism taxes. This is 19 percent, or 1.4 million hryvnias, more than during the same period last year.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service in Odesa Oblast.
Of the total amount, individuals paid 5.9 million hryvnias, while legal entities paid 2.7 million hryvnias.
The tourist tax is paid by Ukrainian citizens, foreigners, and stateless persons prior to temporary accommodation in places of residence. The tax is paid in advance to tax agents.
The Odesa City Council, by Resolution No. 4314-VIII dated July 14, 2026, amended the regulations on the tourist tax.
Specifically, for foreign citizens, the rate was increased from 0.5% to 1% of the minimum wage established as of January 1 of the reporting year.
For Ukrainian citizens, the rate remained at 0.5% of the minimum wage, which this year amounts to 8,647 hryvnias.
At the same time, internally displaced persons who are officially registered as such and temporarily residing in designated locations are exempt from paying the tourist tax. The address of such residence must be indicated in the IDP certificate.
As a reminder, according to analysts,the Odesa region received 20 million 310 thousand hryvnias in revenue from the tourist tax last year, placing the region sixth in Ukraine in terms of this indicator.
