Half a billion allocated to Odesa region to protect power facilities

Odesa region will receive UAH 582.3 million for the first objects under the Resilience Plan - to protect power facilities, develop distributed generation, additional power sources for heat and water, and decentralize the heat supply system.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made the decision during an offsite meeting in Odesa.
"I thank Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and the entire Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for their attention to our city and specific decisions that will help Odesa go through the next heating season more confidently and safely," commented the head of the Odesa City Military Administration Serhiy Lysak.
During her visit to Odesa region, the Prime Minister heard from the heads of the regional administrations of Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions on the implementation of their resilience plans. It was decided to allocate UAH 280.7 million to Mykolaiv region and UAH 97.5 million to Kherson region.
The Resilience Plans for Ukrainian regions are a set of measures to prepare the energy and utilities sector for the next heating season. They have been developed by the Government together with the UIA and local governments. The key elements of each plan include protecting energy facilities, developing distributed generation, ensuring uninterrupted heat, water supply and sewage, and decentralizing the heating system in large cities.
In total, the government has allocated UAH 12.9 billion for the first preparations for next winter as part of the regional resilience plans. The funds will be allocated to 209 critical infrastructure facilities in the frontline regions and Kyiv region.
The allocated amount will finance the protection of 24 high-voltage substations by the Recovery Agency, for which UAH 3.5 billion is provided. Another UAH 9.4 billion has been allocated to the frontline regions and Kyiv region. These funds will be spent on protective structures for distribution substations and other critical infrastructure facilities. The total funding requirement is estimated at UAH 278 billion (EUR 5.4 billion).
