The Danube Shipping Company has signed a record contract: the first caravan has already left for Serbia!

Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDP) has signed a new contract for the transportation of iron ore from Ukraine to Serbia.

The announcement was made by UDP CEO Dmytro Moskalenko.

This year's first caravan, consisting of the Kapitan Antypov vessel and five barges, will deliver almost 10,000 tons of iron ore. The new contract provides for transportation volumes that are 30% higher than last year's, with the possibility of further increase.

As Moskalenko explained, UDP no longer works through intermediaries, preferring direct contracts. This approach guarantees transparency and maximum efficiency. Positive feedback from customers confirms that the fleet modernization ensures stability in the delivery schedule, environmental friendliness and compliance with the requirements of European markets.

The modernized fleet not only increases transportation volumes but also reduces carbon emissions, which is important for international partners. This contributes to increased profitability and opens up new prospects for the development of the UDP.

Earlier, Intent wrote that the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDP) failed to sell six vessels of the fleet put up for sale as a single lot with a starting price of 440 million 680 thousand 132 hryvnias.

The administration emphasized that the sale of the fleet will take place at an open tender, which will ensure fair privatization and help the state reduce losses.

Earlier, a court in Vienna rejected the claims of the Russian Federation regarding the buildings of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company in the center of the Austrian capital.

In 2023, the Danube ports in Odesa region broke last year's records. Back then, the seaports of the Danube Region handled 27.6 million tons of cargo in 10 months of 2023, which is 45.6% more than was handled in the same period in 2022.

In July 2023, the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company loaded a vessel with a deadweight of more than 45 thousand tons for the first time - the transportation of products on board the Ali M is currently underway.
