Reconstruction of a bomb shelter at a college in Nova Odesa will cost over 30 million

The protective structure at the vocational college in Nova Odesa, Mykolaiv region, will be overhauled. The budget for the work was set at UAH 32 million.
The corresponding tender was published in the Prozorro electronic procurement system on January 17, according to the Center for Public Investigations.
It is a radiation shelter owned by the Novodesskyi Vocational College and located at 218 Tsentralna Street. The shelter has an area of 1520 square meters and is designed for 450 people.
The overhaul project envisages the renovation of the shelter to improve its protective functions and create safe conditions for students and employees of the college. The expected cost of the works is UAH 32 million 215 thousand. The source of funding is a subvention from the state budget to local budgets, which was distributed among the country's educational institutions in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers' Resolution.
The project client is the Department of Urban Planning, Architecture, Capital Construction and Development Project Support of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.
Participants can submit a proposal until February 1, and two days later the winner will be selected in an open bidding format with features that provide for reduced deadlines for submitting applications and appeals.
According to the tender documentation, the repair work is aimed at modernizing the shelter in accordance with modern civil protection requirements, including the restoration of structures, utilities, ventilation, lighting and equipment necessary for a long stay of people.
The contractor is to complete the restoration of the bomb shelter by the end of December 2026.
Meanwhile, Mykolaiv plans to repair the shelter at the Polytechnic College. The budget for the work was set at more than UAH 23 million.
Also in the Mykolaiv region, they decided to repair the shelter, the construction of which was planned in 2019 and continued in 2024. More than UAH 19 million was allocated from the budget. It is planned to overhaul the radiation protection shelter No. 54726 of the Stepkivska secondary school.
In addition, in the town of Snihurivka, Mykolaiv Oblast, education officials awarded repair contracts without an auction to an entrepreneur who was convicted of robbery and theft.
