The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority has agreed on the visit of an economic mission of Polish companies to Odesa, scheduled for the end of June.

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

According to the USPA, the visit was discussed at an introductory meeting with the participation of the company's management and a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland headed by Charge d'Affaires Piotr Lukasiewicz. During the meeting, the parties discussed the situation in the ports of Greater Odesa after the missile attacks, as well as current challenges in port security. Particular attention was paid to the possibilities of involving Polish companies in Ukrainian seaports, in particular in the field of container transportation and liquid bulk cargo handling. The parties also discussed plans to open new transit routes.

Earlier, a delegation from the Ministry of Communities and Territorial Development took part in the Investment Conference on the implementation of a concession project in the port of Chornomorsk in Odesa Oblast, which took place in Warsaw.

Also in early April, Polish Deputy Minister of Agriculture Michal Kolodziejczak said that Poland should buy or lease a port in Odesa, allegedly to expand grain export opportunities via the Black Sea.

In his opinion, this will allow Polish farmers to sell grain at more favorable prices, as transportation through the Black Sea is cheaper than through the Baltic ports.

In addition, Michal Kolodziejczak suggested that Poland should lease half a million hectares of Ukrainian land for its agricultural companies. The deputy minister expressed concerns about Ukraine's accession to the EU without clear agreements that would protect the Polish agricultural market
