In 2024, Odesa's budget was replenished by more than UAH 835 million from land payments and land sales.
This information was made public by the Odesa City Council.
The mayor's office noted that land payments, including rent and land tax, have become one of the largest sources of revenue for the city's budget. Over the past year, Odesa received UAH 784.7 million from this category of payments, which is UAH 20.3 million more than in the previous year. The increase in rent is particularly significant: land users paid UAH 457.5 million, which is 107.6% higher than the target.
In addition, the sale of land plots has also significantly replenished Odesa's budget. The city received UAH 51 million from the sale of land lots, of which UAH 16.3 million came from online auctions.
Predicting further development of this topic, the Odesa City Council has already planned budget allocations for 2025 in the amount of UAH 858.2 million for land payments. Separately, it is also expected to receive at least UAH 30 million from the sale of land.
Recently, city council member Roman Senyk said that the UNESCO status paralyzes the work of municipal property management in Odesa - they can neither lease nor sell property due to bureaucracy.
He made this statement during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Municipal Property, Economic, Investment, State Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship.
"This is a great achievement of the city, which is now being criticized from all sides. This is UNESCO. If they had done the same for the entire territory of Odesa, all of Odesa in UNESCO, we would have been completely happy. Because now we cannot lease or sell any municipal property without the approval of the Ministry of Culture. The Ministry of Culture without the approval of the contact group. The contact group without a glass of wine in Paris. Do you understand? And as a result, nothing, everything related to the UNESCO zone, is moving in principle," the deputy said.
