Odesa region is among the three leaders among the regions of Ukraine where foreign citizens most actively established businesses in 2024
This became known from the open data platform Opendatabot.
According to the Unified State Register, more than 1.1 thousand new companies with foreign owners were registered in Ukraine last year. This is 24.2% less than in 2023 and 60% less than in 2021. Most of these businesses were opened in Kyiv (542 companies, 48.9%), Lviv (137 companies, 12.4%), and Odesa (122 companies, 11%).
Foreigners setting up business in Ukraine are most often engaged in wholesale trade (255 companies, 23%), computer programming (109 companies, 9.8%), and real estate operations (86 companies, 7.8%).
Turkey, Poland, and the United States were the top investor countries in 2024.

The largest authorized capital among the new companies is Kyiv-based DVL UKR LLC, founded by a French citizen, with an authorized capital of UAH 1.18 billion. The list of leaders also includes TRADE SOLUTIONS LLC (UAH 456.7 million) and DK KYIV OUTLET LLC (UAH 335.6 million), owned by a Czech citizen.
The registered companies also include those associated with large Ukrainian financial and industrial groups. For example, Ombri Electric Energy Co. Limited belongs to a Greek citizen but is a member of the Liovochkin family group. Another company, AP Bioenergy Complex, owned by US and Austrian citizens, has ties to the AVEC concern owned by Feldman's group.
Odesa region continues to be an important region for international investment, despite the overall decline in the number of new foreign companies in Ukraine.
Last year, Odesa region was also among the top three regions where companies with foreign investments were opened.
