Mykolaiv Region Sees Food Prices Rise 1.7% in February Amid Inflation

In Mykolaiv region, prices for food and soft drinks increased in February. The cost of medical services and transportation also increased, while clothing and footwear fell in price.
This is evidenced by the data of the Main Department of Statistics in Mykolaiv region.
In February, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.7%. Sunflower oil (+10%) and eggs (+8.7%) were the most expensive. There was also an increase in the cost of butter, dairy products, pasta, bread, soft drinks, flour, milk, fish, meat, and vegetables by 1.1-3.6%. At the same time, lard fell by 4.2% and sugar by 0.6%.
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased in price by 2.2%, with tobacco going up by 3.3% and alcohol by 0.9%. Clothing and footwear, on the other hand, became more affordable, with an overall price decline of 4.1%: clothing fell by 5.9% and footwear by 1.1%.

In the healthcare sector, prices rose by 1.8%, driven by higher prices for consulting services (+5.5%), hospital treatment (+3.2%), dentistry (+2.3%), diagnostic services (+2%), and pharmaceuticals (+1.3%).
Transportation prices rose by 0.5%, including oil change services (+2.8%), car maintenance (+2.1%), long-distance transportation (+1.6%), and fuel and oil (+1.3%).
In January 2025, the inflation rate was 1.1%, slightly lower than the average for Ukraine - 1.2%. Food, transportation and communication services were the most expensive.
Preferential conditions have been introduced for students and schoolchildren, and travel will be free for students during martial law. In addition, tariffs for paid social services of the city's territorial center have been updated. The list includes assistance in care, delivery of goods, cleaning and medical support.
