Mykolaiv Region Exports Reach ₴880 Million in 2024 Despite Decline

In 2024, Mykolaiv region enterprises exported goods worth more than $800 million. Exports were mainly made up of grains, oilseeds, and oil, while imports consisted mainly of machinery, transportation, and food products.
This is evidenced by data from the Main Department of Statistics in Mykolaiv region.
In 2024, enterprises in Mykolaiv region exported goods worth $880.3 million, which is 12% less than in 2023. At the same time, imports decreased by 6.2% to $510.3 million. As a result, the region had a foreign trade surplus of $370 million, as exports were 1.7 times higher than imports.

Mykolaiv region exported goods to 87 countries. The largest buyers were Spain, Egypt, Turkey, the Netherlands, India, and Italy. The main exports were cereals (52.2%), seeds and fruits of oilseeds (15.7%), oil (12.9%), prepared foods (7.1%), and machinery and electrical equipment (6.1%).
At the same time, goods were imported from 93 countries, with China, Germany, Turkey, Poland, the United States, and Italy leading the way. Most of all, the region imported machinery and electrical equipment (30.3%), vehicles (21%), food (10.5%), chemical products (10.2%), and plastics (10%).

In January 2025, enterprises in the Mykolaiv region exported goods worth more than $10 million, supplying products to 38 countries. The main buyers were Poland (20%), Lebanon (14%), Libya (13%), Germany (12%), and Moldova (6%), while the rest of the shipments went to France, Japan, Georgia, Romania, and Bulgaria.
In 2024, the region's farmers exported products worth USD 700 million, accounting for 96% of the region's total exports. More than 170 farms, which cultivate 207 thousand hectares of land, were able to resume operations.
Last year, the agricultural sector of Mykolaiv region received record state support in the amount of UAH 459 million, which is more than eight times more than in 2023. In 2025, it is planned to attract about UAH 560 million more from the state budget and international partners for agricultural development.
