Mykolaiv Region Exports Over $10M in January 2025: Key Trade Stats

In January 2025, Mykolaiv region exported goods worth more than $10 million and traded with 38 countries.
According to Mykolaiv Customs, since the beginning of the year, the volume of exports of goods from Mykolaiv region amounted to $10.4 million, which is 35.4% of the total turnover. Imports reached $19.04 million, which corresponds to 64.59% of the total.
The products were exported to 38 countries, with 80% of shipments going to 10 main destinations, including Poland - 20%, Lebanon - 14%, Libya - 13%, Germany - 12%, Moldova - 6%, France - 4%, Japan - 3%, Georgia - 3%, Romania - 3%, Bulgaria - 2%.
The structure of exports was dominated by food products (75.2%), machinery and equipment (6.9%), textiles (5.9%), metals (3.5%), and chemical products (4.4%).
Imports came from 24 countries, of which 92% were from the top 10 partners. The leading suppliers were China (40%), Lithuania (12%), Germany (9%), Turkey (8%), and Ireland (7%).
The main imports were machinery, equipment, and transport (36.4%), chemicals and rubber (32.3%), food (17.8%), metals and metal products (7.5%), and footwear and textiles (3.6%).
In 2024, the agricultural sector of Mykolaiv region exported products worth USD 700 million, accounting for 96% of the region's total exports. The main products were cereals (55.8%), seeds and fruits of oilseeds (16.2%), fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin (12.8%), and prepared foods (7.8%).
Overall, Ukraine's exports grew by 10%, with the IT and agricultural sectors generating the largest gains. Exports were based on goods worth $32.25 billion, while services accounted for $14.09 billion.
Mykolaiv region also showed high growth rates in tax revenues, topping the ranking of regions in terms of personal income tax growth and ranking second in terms of general fund revenues. In 2024, the region's budgets grew by more than UAH 9 billion, with the main sources of revenue coming from taxes on entrepreneurs, land and real estate fees, and excise duties.
