During the first eight months of this year, enterprises in Mykolaiv region paid over UAH 2.2 billion in value added tax (VAT) to the state budget from the sale of goods produced in Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Mykolaiv region.
The tax is UAH 294.4 million more than in the same period last year, an increase of 115.1%. In total, this amount accounts for 21.4% of all state budget revenues from the region. As of September, 5,616 VAT payers were registered in Mykolaiv region: 4,970 companies and 646 individual entrepreneurs. Since the beginning of the year, 521 new entities have become VAT payers, while 465 have lost their registration.
The director of a Mykolaiv company concealed 55 million from taxes. According to the investigation, in 2024, the company exported industrial products, seeds, nuts and eggs worth more than UAH 300 million. At the same time, the origin of these products was not established, and the company did not file an income tax return at all. As a result, the state budget could have lost more than UAH 55 million, which is 18% of the declared exports.
The criminal proceedings are being conducted under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - tax evasion on a particularly large scale. If found guilty, the defendants face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. The court's decision came into force immediately after the announcement and will be valid for 60 days.
Also in early July, the court granted investigators access to documents in the case concerning the export of soybeans. According to the investigation, the company concealed a significant portion of its income and tried to avoid paying taxes. Investigators found that officials of Sunrise MK LLC evaded taxation of the facility worth more than UAH 218 million between August and December 2023.
