Mykolaiv plans to buy firewood to supply defense facilities. More than five million hryvnias have been allocated from the local budget for this purpose.
This is evidenced by data from the Prozorro public procurement system.
The housing and maintenance department of the city of Mykolaiv has announced a tender for the purchase of 2,000 cubic meters of hardwood firewood to supply defense facilities.
The expected value of the purchase is UAH 5 million 478 thousand 920.
Bids are due by March 1, 2025, and the auction will start on March 3. The minimum price reduction step is 1%, i.e. UAH 54,789.20.
Bidders can submit bids until March 1, and the auction is scheduled for March 3, 2025. The supplier must ensure the delivery of firewood to the facilities of Mykolaiv's KEV by April 11, 2025.

Payment is due within 15 banking days after receipt of the invoice and subject to the receipt of budget funds.
Suppliers must provide a bid security in the amount of UAH 109,578. The winner must also provide security for the fulfillment of the contract and deposit an amount equal to 3 percent of the contract value to the customer's account.
According to the terms of the tender, the fuel wood must be hardwood (oak, beech, hornbeam, acacia), the moisture content of the wood must be no more than 30%, the wood must be of a certain size, and external rotting is not allowed in the wood.
A company with a dubious reputation may be awarded the contract for the construction of a warning system for Mykolaiv region. Only one company took part in the bidding, which reduced the cost by only about three thousand hryvnias. The total contract amount exceeds 86 million hryvnias.
In Mykolaiv, local contractors are actively earning money on road repairs and tile laying, where tenders are often accompanied by political connections. One of the next contracts for paving may be awarded to the company of a local MP, which has been the subject of journalistic investigations.
At the same time, large-scale infrastructure projects to restore water supply and strengthen defense capabilities are underway in the region. However, a significant part of the contracts is distributed without open tenders, and the contractors include companies that were previously involved in criminal proceedings for embezzlement of budget funds.
