In Odesa, projects of NGOs to be financed from the budget are being selected

Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov has ordered a competition to identify projects (activities) developed by civil society institutions and implemented at the expense of the city budget.

The corresponding order was published by the press service of the mayor's office.

Projects can be submitted by public associations with the status of a legal entity, creative unions, and self-organization bodies that are officially registered no later than six months before the start of the competition.

There are 12 nominations in the competition:

• social protection of people with disabilities and their social and psychological rehabilitation;
• support for children in difficult life circumstances and organization of their leisure time;
• provision of comprehensive prevention services based on the harm reduction strategy to persons belonging to key populations for HIV infection, according to the List of HIV groups and criteria for their identification, approved by the Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 1632 of September 15, 2023;
• implementation of comprehensive public health communication programs on the prevention of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, viral hepatitis and other infections;
• promoting employment and active longevity of the elderly;
• promotion of equal rights for men and women;
• social and psychological rehabilitation and adaptation of internally displaced persons, war veterans, defenders of Ukraine, members of their families and families of fallen (deceased) soldiers;
• promoting active life position and healthy lifestyle of Odesa youth and internally displaced youth;
• military-patriotic education and information and awareness raising activities;
• promotion of cultural, international and tourist development of the city of Odesa;
• honoring the memory of fallen war veterans and combatants, visiting war graves and monuments, memorials to war veterans. Measures to facilitate the search for the remains of fallen soldiers, the search for prisoners of war and those who went missing;
• Promoting careful treatment of stray animals and environmental protection. Promoting the protection of animals from cruel treatment.

The maximum amount of funding per nomination is up to UAH 200 thousand. The commission accepts applications until July 1, and the results of the competition are scheduled to be announced on July 31. All projects must be completed by December 15, and the results will be announced on December 19.
