Court returns plant worth 18 million to the state in Yuzhnoukrainsk

The South Ukrainian City Court has ordered the state to return the buildings of an asphalt plant worth UAH 18.8 million. This decision was made following a lawsuit filed by the Voznesensk District Prosecutor's Office, as the buyer, who acquired the plant in 2019, failed to comply with the terms of the privatization agreement.
According to the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, an individual purchased the plant's buildings with an area of more than 1,200 square meters from the State Property Fund. The facility is located on the territory of the Yuzhnoukrainskaya AES branch.
For four years, the buyer failed to fulfill the main terms of the agreement: he did not dismantle the plant and did not clean up the land around it. Despite law enforcement appeals, the authorized state body did not respond to the violations.
The court found that there were grounds to terminate the agreement. After the decision comes into force, the plant's buildings will be returned to state ownership.
In Crimea, the occupiers are going to sell the plant taken away from Poroshenko. The occupation authorities are discussing the possibility of selling the Sevastopol Shipyard, which was illegally "nationalized" from its former owner, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, in 2015. According to the chairman of the board of directors of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, Andriy Kostin, the company, which has existed since 1783, is facing serious problems: only 200 employees remain, and there are virtually no orders.
At the same time, the so-called "governor" of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, says that the possible sale will not mean the liquidation of the plant, but rather may help attract a new investor who will help "return a worthy place in the economy" of the port. According to him, the agreement with the investor reached at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will allow the port to start systematic development.
