A new salt production plant is being built in Odesa region

In early 2026, a strategic enterprise for the production of food and technical salt, Kuyalnytskyi PE, is to start operating in Odesa region.

The enterprise for the production of edible and technical salt is being built by Black Sea Salt Plant LLC. The project has invested USD 2.8 million raised through the state program "5-7-9%".
Construction of the salt plant began in 2024 and is now in its final stages. The plant is expected to start operating in January 2026. According to preliminary estimates, it will produce 15 thousand tons of salt per month.
The company will also contribute to the restoration of the Kuyalnyk Estuary.
"We see our role not only in salt production but also in the restoration of Kuyalnik. If we can remove the excess salt and restore the natural balance of the estuary, we will do it. This is our responsibility to the region and the country," said Vitaliy Rudenko, co-founder of the company.
According to Vladyslav Balinsky, head of the Green Leaf organization, the drying up of the estuary is caused by the devastation of the poems of the rivers that feed it, illegal sand mining, and illegal dams on such rivers.
The Kuyalnytskyi PE reminded that the salinity level in the estuary has recently increased critically: its indicators exceed the natural norm by several times, which threatens the unique therapeutic mud.
To reduce the salinity of the estuary, the company will use the method of pool deposition of excess salts: salt will be collected in special pools after its deposition and processed at the plant.
