In the village of Arkhangelske in the Kherson region, a shelter for 250-300 people is to be built on the basis of a professional agricultural lyceum. The expected cost of the work is UAH 70 million.
This is stated on the website of the state Digital Ecosystem for Accountable Recovery Management DREAM.
According to the website, the project envisages the construction of a new protective structure in combination with the existing radiation shelter and the arrangement of educational spaces in it. The construction itself costs UAH 69.1 million, with another UAH 800 thousand allocated for project development and UAH 20 thousand for expert evaluation.
The DREAM website states that the money for the project has already been allocated from the state budget in accordance with CMU Resolution No. 954 of August 20, 2024.
During the occupation of the village of Arkhangelske in the Vysokopil community of the Kherson region, the Russian military lived in the offices of the professional agricultural lyceum and its dormitory, and stored ammunition there. As a result of the hostilities, the institution was severely damaged by shelling: the dormitory was almost completely destroyed, and the roof, gym, and windows in the educational building were destroyed.
The first stage of the project - design - will be carried out from September to December this year. An expert evaluation is also due in December. And the construction itself will last from January to the end of September 2025.
The project was initiated by the Department of Education and Science of the Kherson Regional State Administration, and will be implemented by the Municipal Institution "Center for the Service of Educational Institutions of the Kherson Region" of the Kherson Regional Council.
Earlier, the Civil Protection Department of the Kherson City Council signed 7 contracts for the repair of the simplest collective protection facilities for a total of UAH 10.6 million. Most of them were signed with an individual entrepreneur who started doing business only in 2023.
