In the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, the turnover of cafes and restaurants' profits has more than halved.
According to the Holos Kryma news agency, the relevant data was published by the Krymstat organization.
The report says that for 7 months of 2024, the turnover amounted to 4991.3 million rubles (about 2500 million hryvnias), which is 37.2% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the cost of an average meal at a restaurant has not increased significantly.
It is also noted that respondents in the occupier-controlled local media directly report that the restaurant business in the region is dying: the number of summer venues has decreased from hundreds to about 40, and the situation is expected to deteriorate further. Global factors for this situation include rising prices for raw materials from suppliers, utilities and rent, as well as a decrease in tourist traffic; local factors include the repair of the Primorsky Boulevard embankment, where restaurants and cafes are not interested in customers due to construction work during the holiday season.
Among the support measures from the occupation "government" of the region were programs of preferential lending and exemption from payment for summer sites, which did not solve the problem of high rents.
Earlier, it was reported that on the night of August 2, an air raid alert was declared in Sevastopol. Then, according to the Sevastopol Rescue Service, it was reported that a part of a downed missile fell on a pedestrian crossing near Khrustaleva Street. Debris also fell in the area of Ostryakov Street, according to preliminary information, parts of the downed UAV are burning. The debris of the downed air targets also fell in the area of Symonka Street and Uchkuyivka.
