The state owes the municipal enterprise "Heat Supply of Odesa" UAH 1.5 billion over three years.
This was reported live on Intent.Insight by Deputy Mayor of Odesa Hanna Pozdnyakova.
According to her, it is about compensating for the difference between the cost of heating and the current cost of gas.
"At the beginning of the invasion, the state imposed a moratorium on tariff increases and undertook to compensate for the difference, but for three years it has not compensated the company a single penny. As a result, the state owes the company UAH 1.5 billion. Meanwhile, the tariff is rising, and for objective reasons, gas prices are rising, as are wages. And now the question is when the state will start compensating," said Pozdnyakova.
According to her, this situation has developed not only in Odesa region, but also in other regions, but no solution is proposed, because the government refers to the war and lack of money in the budget.
"Heating companies are facing the fact that expenses exceed revenues all over Ukraine, and this is a collapse. The state's debt to the industry is more than UAH 40 billion, and the solution to the problem is postponed for later," the official said.
She also noted that the Odesa Heat Supply Company carries out major repairs at its own expense, and the 500 million hryvnias allocated from the city budget each year are used to pay off the company's debts and purchase gas. The company is unable to avoid paying off its gas debts because of the strictness of Naftogaz-Ukraine in this matter.
"On the one hand, the state says there is no money in the tank, and on the other hand, the state gas company does not supply gas without payment," said Pozdnyakova.
Meanwhile, the debt of Odesa residents to the utility company has also exceeded one billion hryvnias.
Hanna Pozdnyakova was appointed deputy mayor of Odesa at the session on June 26. As a result of this appointment, Intent has learned, Hanna Pozdnyakova resigned from her position as the head of the Odesa Heat Supply Company.
