Odesmiskelectrotrans has repaired a Tatra T3 tramcar for UAH 4 million.

According to the Odesa City Council, the repaired tram has been completely renovated inside and out and has a new control system. It is 40% more economical in use.

"This car was repaired at the expense of the company's working capital and cost Odesmiskelektrotrans UAH 4 million. A new tram costs at least 18 million," the city council said.

They also added that they are studying the possibility of installing old modifications of the mechanisms for lifting people in wheelchairs on the Tatras.

Earlier, the Odesa City Council allocated funds for a new dispatching system for controlling electric vehicles. Three million hryvnias were to be allocated from the budget. Deputies claim that this system will make it easier for passengers to use electric vehicles and improve their control.

On September 18, at a session of the city council, deputies voted to allocate UAH 3 million from the city budget to create or purchase software. On September 18, deputies voted for the relevant decision at a session of the Odesa City Council. The new dispatching system will be integrated with a mobile application, as the existing one, according to the Department of Transport, no longer meets modern requirements.

The developer will be selected through a tender, and the city will additionally allocate another UAH 1 million to support the operation of 850 GPS trackers in electric vehicles.

And at an extraordinary session on July 12, members of the Odesa City Council agreed to close the remaining debt of Odesmiselectrotrans at UAH 143.5 million. They voted to allocate this amount and made appropriate changes to the city's electric transport development program. As a result, the utility had to repay the loan for the purchase of 47 new trolleybuses ahead of schedule. The loan was provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The project began in 2015. The total loan amount is EUR 8 million. The loan expires in 2028. According to the mayor's office, early repayment of the debt will save Odesa at least UAH 36 million at the current exchange rate.
