The Izmail Commercial Sea Port (IMTP) has earned about UAH 1 million 726 thousand for the sale of two faulty portal cranes made in the 1960s.
This is evidenced by the results of the auction on the online platform Prozorro.Sale.
Both lots were sold at three-round English auctions, i.e. at a higher price. The winner was Ukrmet Holding, a Kyiv-based company engaged in wholesale scrap trading.
The port fetched UAH 706.7 thousand for a 1964 Gantz full-swing crane weighing 126.7 tons, which is 13.8 thousand more than the starting price.
The second lot is a mobile portal crane Albrecht, manufactured in 1968, weighing 218.855 tons. It was sold for UAH 190.4 thousand more than the starting price, for UAH 1 million 20 thousand.
Both cranes have a number of malfunctions and defects: the engines of the lifting mechanism are inoperable; the condition of the movable counterweight rocker is unsatisfactory; the electrical equipment of the gantry crane control system is also inoperable.
Prior to the auction, the port of Izmail studied the demand for a number of its obsolete assets, including the aforementioned cranes. To do this, in the spring of 2023, the company sent a letter to the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine with a request to publish a list of property to be written off on the website. In particular, it stated that the original cost of the Gantz crane was UAH 1.47 million, and the residual value was UAH 63 thousand. The original cost of the Albrecht crane was listed at UAH 3.85 million, and the residual value was UAH 81 thousand.
According to the YouControl analytical service, Ukrmet Holding LLC was registered in Kyiv in September 2020 with a registered capital of UAH 500 thousand. The founder and CEO is Serhiy Tolstikov from Donetsk region.
Meanwhile, Odesa Commercial Sea Port has put up for sale two more Condor portal cranes.
In September, the State Enterprise "Odesa Commercial Sea Port" has already held an auction for the sale of two Condor portal cranes. The starting price of the two lots - UAH 29 million 547.2 thousand - eventually rose to UAH 29 million 842.8 thousand. The winner was Attollo Granum Limited Liability Company.
The State Property Fund has also recently held an auction to select a company that plans to acquire the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Commercial Sea Port. The auction was attended by Top Offer Limited Liability Company.
