Delta Pilot, a branch of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority in Mykolaiv, has signed an agreement to purchase a multipurpose vehicle for UAH 2.95 million. This purchase was one of the most expensive automotive purchases in the last three months.
This was reported by Nashi Hroshi with reference to the Prozorro public procurement system.
A 2024 Toyota Highlander Hybrid with a 245 hp gasoline engine is scheduled to be delivered by December 20. The car is equipped with numerous safety systems, such as blind spot monitoring, off-road driving control with a choice of surfaces, frontal collision warning, road sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and others.
Among the comfort features are a panoramic sunroof included in the most expensive Premium trim, heated and ventilated seats, multi-information and projection displays, an audio system with 11 speakers and a subwoofer, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The basic versions of the Toyota Highlander Hybrid cost significantly less than the cars purchased for the port workers - UAH 2.3 million for the Elegance and UAH 2.6 million for the Prestige.
This purchase by Delta Pilot has become one of the most expensive car purchases in the last three months. Only the State Protection Department of Ukraine purchased Lexuses for UAH 3.3 million apiece at a higher price.
Since 2022, the Delta Pilot branch of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority has been headed by Oleksandr Holodnytskyi, who has been working in the industry since 2001 and was elected to the Mykolaiv Regional Council in 2010 as a member of the Party of Regions. The car supplier is Avtosamit na Stolichnomu LLC, a member of the UkrAuto group owned by former MP Tariel Vasadze.
The Mykolaiv Executive Committee has also recently announced the purchase of crossovers for territorial defense. They planned to spend over two million hryvnias to purchase the vehicles.
The executive committee of Mykolaiv City Council decided to spend UAH 2 million 270 thousand 400 on territorial defense measures, or rather on the purchase of three Renault Duster Life vehicles.
In June, the Mykolaiv Oblast Security Police Department also plans to purchase a special-purpose vehicle for UAH 1.2 million from the budget. Only one contractor applied for the tender, and an agreement was signed with him. A week after the agreement was signed, the contractor agreed to reduce the price of the car by almost 100 thousand hryvnias. As a result, the new car will cost the police UAH 1.1 million, which is slightly below the market offer.
