Mykolaiv region is among the leaders in winter crops

Active sowing of winter crops is underway in all regions, with Mykolaiv region being one of the leaders in terms of volumes.
As of today, the sowing of 4.7 million hectares of winter grain crops, which is 90% of the planned area, and more than one million hectares of winter rapeseed has been almost completed, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, the results of winter crops sowing are as follows:
- winter wheat sown on an area of 4.1 million hectares (92% of the plan);
- winter barley - 486.1 thousand hectares (76%);
- winter rye - 66 thousand hectares (94%);
- winter rape - 1.05 million hectares (94%).
Farmers in Volyn, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil and Chernihiv regions have already completed sowing winter crops. Winter rape sowing has also been completed in 12 regions.
The leaders in terms of sowing volumes are farmers in Mykolaiv region, who sowed 503.1 thousand hectares (100.5% of the plan), Zaporizhzhia region - 100.8 thousand hectares (99.9%) and Khmelnytsky region - 238.8 thousand hectares (99.5%).
By the way, the spring sowing campaign in Mykolaiv region started a little earlier due to climatic conditions.
Earlier, within the framework of the Land Bank project, 18.6 thousand hectares of state-owned agricultural land are going to be leased in Mykolaiv region. These are the lands of the state-owned enterprises Volodymyrske, Reconstruction, Stepove Breeding Station, Vinohradna Dolyna State Farm, and the Center for Certification and Expertise of Seeds and Garden Material. They will be included in the first pool of land to be leased.
Over the past three years, more than 254,000 transactions on the sale and purchase of Ukrainian agricultural land have been concluded. In total, Ukrainians have purchased half a million hectares of land at an average cost of 41,000 per hectare. In Mykolaiv region, 26,820 hectares of land have been sold over the years. As of 2024, its value is 34.16 thousand hryvnias per hectare.
The value of agricultural land in Ukraine continues to grow. In September 2024, the average price per hectare reached UAH 49,045, which is UAH 1,300 more than in August, when it was UAH 47,739.
