Starting today, December 1, fares for taxis and city electric transport in Odesa have risen to 20 hryvnias and 15 hryvnias, respectively.
This means that tram or trolleybus fares in the city have risen from eight hryvnias to 15 hryvnias, and minibus fares from 15 to 20 hryvnias.
Earlier, the press service of the city mayor's office reported on the rise in prices for all types of transportation.
In particular, a new single fare for city electric transport will be introduced: from UAH 8 to UAH 15, and for minibuses from UAH 15 to UAH 20.
The municipal enterprise OMET has calculated the fare for urban electric transport in accordance with the current tariff setting procedure approved by the order of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
The mayor's office explained that in 2022-2024, despite the martial law, many cities in Ukraine increased the cost of urban electric transport, and in Odesa they have not increased since 2021.
Theannouncement of an increase in bus fares in Odesa has recently been made in the transport sector - the increase will take place on both city and some suburban routes on November 12.
This is the second increase in bus fares since the full-scale invasion - in July 2022, bus fares in Odesa went up to 15 hryvnias, and the last time public transportation fares went up was in October 2021. It was then that a tram or trolleybus ticket began to cost 8 hryvnias if paid in cash and seven if paid using mobile applications or bank cards.
It was also then, on the eve of the increase in bus fares, that Odesa's passenger transportation companies reduced the number of buses due to rising prices and fuel shortages.
