In October 2024, the banks being liquidated under the management of the Deposit Guarantee Fund received almost UAH 70 million from the repayment of restructured loans.
According to the DGF, this is the highest monthly figure this year.
The bulk of the proceeds were provided by business loans, which is explained by the active restructuring of debts of large borrowers.
It is noted that since the beginning of the restructuring programs, debtors have returned more than UAH 964 million, of which UAH 214.3 million - on mortgage loans to individuals, 198.2 million - under the conditions in force during martial law, and 551.6 million - on business loans.
The Fund noted that restructuring is the best opportunity for debtors to repay their loans on favorable terms. After all, restructuring allows them to maintain the predictability of their own financial resources and debt burden.
Thus, 98% of business entities that applied for loan restructuring received a positive decision. Of these, 93% comply with the terms of monthly debt repayment.
Individual borrowers can join the restructuring program until August 31, 2025.
For the period of martial law, preferential repayment terms apply to individuals: 0.001% per annum and 1 kopeck of commission for monthly payments from UAH 1 to 10 thousand, depending on the type of loan. For card loans over UAH 100 thousand, the minimum payment is UAH 5 thousand.
This year, Ukrainian banks filed 25% fewer lawsuits against debtors. Monobank, A-Bank, and PrivatBank are the most frequently sued banks.
Earlier it was reported that the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal of the former owner of IMEXBANK JSC, Odesa businessman Leonid Klimov. The court upheld the decision of the Court of Appeal to recover UAH 309 million from Klimov in favor of the National Bank of Ukraine to repay the bank's debt under a refinancing loan. Head of the Legal and Litigation Department of the Legal Department Serhiy Boyko said that this decision ends a long-running dispute and confirms the legitimacy of the National Bank's claims. This will allow resuming the enforcement of the decision of the court of appeal.
