The Danube Institute of the National University "Odesa Maritime Academy" in Izmail has announced a tender for the overhaul of a three-story academic building.

The maximum value of the contract is UAH 35 million 640 thousand, Intenta journalist reports, citing the public procurement website Prozorro.

The building on Mira Avenue in Izmail is to be renovated by the end of 2025. The contractor will have to perform the following work: replace the roof, windows and doors, install lighting for the renovated facade, install stairs and a porch, and repair the air conditioning system. The repairs will be carried out using energy-saving technologies. In addition, it is necessary to improve the area around the main entrance: the asphalt pavement will be replaced with paving slabs. A waterproofing layer will be installed around the perimeter of the educational building.

The auction will take place on October 24.

In the spring of 2024, the school has already signed a UAH 16 million contract with the Zhytomyr-based company Mobile Mechanized Column 132 (PMK-132) for the repair of the same building. The works are to be completed by November 30 this year.

The Housing and Communal Services Department of Izmail City Council in Odesa Oblast has started searching for a contractor to carry out the first stage of repairs to an apartment building destroyed in a "shaheddist" attack on Izmail on September 27. The cost of the work is estimated at UAH 5 million 736 thousand.

It should be added that the repair of the neighboring apartment building at 216 Prydunayskaya Street was entrusted to Rodnik, a company owned by Izmail City Council member Igor Dekhtyarev. The contract, which was awarded without a tender, is worth UAH 2 million 420 thousand. The deadline for completing the work is December 10, 2024.

This is not the first time that the deputy's company has been awarded restoration contracts without an auction. In July 2024, the Housing and Communal Services Department of the Izmail City Council in Odesa Oblast also signed a contract with Rodnik, a private enterprise, without bidding for the repair of an apartment building damaged by a Shahedi attack in Izmail. At the time, the contract amounted to UAH 1 million 606 thousand.
