Customs reported: violations worth UAH 18 billion in 11 months

In January-November 2024, the customs of the State Customs Service of Ukraine revealed 8,748 violations of customs rules worth UAH 17.8 billion.

The value indicator increased by 2 times compared to the same period in 2023, the report says.
In 2,885 cases of violation of customs rules, the objects of offenses worth UAH 530 million were temporarily seized. In particular
- industrial goods worth UAH 383 million;
- vehicles worth over UAH 82 million;
- food products worth over UAH 59 million;
- currency worth UAH 6 million.

In 2,484 cases of customs rules violations, including those initiated in previous periods, customs applied administrative penalties in the form of fines amounting to UAH 80 million, of which UAH 73 million was collected to the state budget.
The customs authorities submitted 4,876 cases of customs rules violations worth over UAH 17 billion to the courts. As a result of court proceedings, including those initiated in previous periods, penalties (confiscation of goods and fines) amounting to more than UAH 3.8 billion were imposed.
Intent wrote that in 10 months of 2024 , Mykolaiv customs officers detected violations of the rules worth UAH 2.1 billion. The main offenses included duty evasion and concealment of goods.
Border guards opened 95 cases of customs rules violations, with the total value of the offenses amounting to over UAH 23 million.
The main violations recorded by the Department for Combating Smuggling and Customs Violations were
- Movement of goods concealed from customs control (Article 483 of the CCU) - 61 cases were opened;
- actions aimed at unlawful exemption from customs payments or reduction of their amount (Article 485 of the CCU) - 20 cases were opened.
- In the period from January to October 2024, 88 cases totaling UAH 2.1 billion were submitted to the court.
The court also considered 69 cases worth UAH 442 million. The court decisions resulted in fines of UAH 341.1 million and confiscation of offenses worth UAH 436.1 million.
During this period, the customs also resolved 12 cases by concluding amicable agreements to terminate the proceedings through a compromise.
